Nvidia Eyes Acquisition of Saudi-Backed AI Chipmaker Rebellions

Nvidia has entered talks with South Korean AI chipmaker Rebellions over a potential acquisition, according to Bloomberg, highlighting growing interest in specialized companies developing infrastructure for the rapidly expanding AI market.

Rebellions develops AI chips for data centers, with a focus on inference and reasoning operations. The company is part of the portfolio of Aramco’s Waed Ventures, which invested $15 million in Rebellions in July 2024, contributing to the company’s expansion into Saudi Arabia.

In 2025, Rebellions raised $250 million in a Series C funding round at a $1.4 billion valuation, attracting major industry players including Samsung, SK Hynix, and ARM. Its total funding raised has since surpassed $850 million.

The company’s latest valuation reached $2.3 billion after it secured $400 million in a funding round last March, as it prepares for an initial public offering (IPO).

Rebellions currently offers its products across Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Japan, and the United States, strengthening its presence across key AI and data-center technology markets.
