Saudi-Based Governata Closes $4M Seed Round to Accelerate AI-Powered Enterprise Data Governance

Saudi-based Governata has announced the closing of a $4 million Seed funding round, with participation from Joa Capital, abtal.vc, 500 MENA, PlusVC, Plug and Play Tech Center, HyperScope Ventures, and A-typical Ventures.

Governata is developing an AI-powered enterprise data governance platform designed to enable public and private institutions to build compliant, AI-ready data foundations, supporting secure and scalable data usage across organizations.

The newly secured funding will be used to accelerate expansion across Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East, helping organizations manage, classify, and govern data ahead of broader AI adoption.

Founded in 2025 by Jehad Senan, Khalid Almudayfir, and Djamel Mohand, Governata works closely with government entities and enterprises to strengthen data governance frameworks in preparation for advanced AI use cases.
