Rimal Semiconductors, the first Saudi fabless company specialized in power semiconductor design, has secured a strategic investment from KDTF, a deep-tech fund managed by Kuhailan Asset Management.
The funding aligns with Saudi Arabia’s efforts to localize advanced technology industries and strengthen its position as a regional semiconductor hub under Vision 2030 objectives.

The investment aims to accelerate Rimal’s plans to localize power chip design and establish a fully integrated semiconductor ecosystem within the Kingdom. This includes developing local supply chains and forming strategic partnerships across energy, transportation, and industrial sectors to strengthen technological sovereignty and expand the national economic base.
Hussam Salem, CEO of Rimal, stated that the company seeks to transform Saudi Arabia from a technology consumer into a developer and producer by innovating and localizing core chip technologies that power modern industries.
He further emphasized that the company is focused on building a comprehensive national foundation starting from chip design to owning knowledge and intellectual property within the Kingdom.
Founded in 2025, Rimal Semiconductors specializes in the design of MOSFET, SiC, IGBT, and GaN chips, with an ambitious vision to localize semiconductor intellectual property and engineering expertise in Saudi Arabia.
