Qatar Launches 10-Year Residency Program for Entrepreneurs and Senior Executives Within Days

Qatar has announced the launch of a 10-year residency program targeting entrepreneurs, founders, and senior executives, enabling them to establish companies, open bank accounts, and obtain residency within days, as part of a new package of incentives for startups.
The announcement was made by Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, during the opening of the third edition of Web Summit Qatar, highlighting the country’s commitment to strengthening its startup ecosystem.
The Prime Minister revealed the provision of dedicated computing credits for startups in Qatar to accelerate growth, alongside an eightfold increase in startup incentives, following a year that saw startup registrations double, with more than 6,000 applications submitted.
In terms of operational speed, he emphasized the simplification of company formation procedures, noting that founders registering during Web Summit can complete company incorporation, open bank accounts, and obtain residency within days.
He also announced the expansion of the “Fund of Funds” program, launched by the Qatar Investment Authority with an initial value of $1 billion, which has already attracted 12 venture capital funds to Doha, confirming its expansion through an additional $2 billion in investments.
