About
Wael Al-Hazzani is a seasoned capital markets executive with over a decade of experience in advancing Saudi Arabia’s financial market infrastructure. As CEO of the Saudi Securities Clearing Center (Muqassa) since its establishment in 2018, he has led the development of the Kingdom’s first Central Counterparty Clearinghouse, playing a pivotal role in modernizing post-trade operations. His leadership spans major structural reforms, including technology transformation, regulatory enhancement, and institutional separation within the market ecosystem. Alongside his executive role, Al-Hazzani serves on the boards of the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul) and the Securities Depository Center Company (Edaa). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and an MBA from King Saud University, and is a graduate of Harvard Business School Executive Education’s Leadership Development Program.
